Overcoming Cold Feet; Salt Lake City Weddings
I have seen dozens of close friends get nervous before their
wedding. Occasionally this leads to calling off a wedding. For anyone who is
getting married I promise this is valuable information. Cold feet should not
lead to a break up.
What is “cold feet”?
When you hear the term “cold feet” usually someone is referring
to the last minute jitters that are common to have before a wedding. I have seen this happen before Salt Lake Weddings on occasion. Sometimes
cold feet can bring feelings of fear, nervousness and even thoughts like “am I
really making the right decision”.
It is important to note that it is normal to have cold feet.
Spending the rest of your life with someone is a huge decision. It is natural
to second guess big decisions. It is also important to note that having “cold
feet” and feeling like you are making the wrong decision are two different
things. It is important to follow your heart but don’t let your mind play
tricks on you.
How to know if you
are having cold feet or if you shouldn’t get married
First off I will say that if you are approaching the day of
your wedding, these doubts are almost always cold feet. Cold feet thoughts come
at the last minute or the last few weeks. Real doubts are in our minds all
along. If you have not felt right about the wedding since you were engaged then
you should take these thoughts more seriously.
How to overcome cold
feet
Cold feet thoughts usually come while you are alone or away
from your future spouse. How you feel when you are with your future spouse is
very important. Our minds often play tricks on us when we are stressed and
alone. Think about how you feel when you are spending time with your future
companion.
As you approach your wedding spend quality time with your
soon to be spouse. It is very common for busy schedules to take over our lives.
As you are approaching your Wedding in Salt Lake City it is more important than ever to go on
dates and spend quality time together.
Planning for your wedding event so you need to make sure you
spend time doing other things. Make sure the wedding isn’t the topic of every
conversation. If all you talk about is wedding planning you have much higher
chances of being stressed.
Prayer
Prayer is one of the best ways to recognize if you are just
getting cold feet jitters. If you are having a hard time knowing if you are
making the right decision it is time to hit your knees. Prayer is the best way
to receive answers to difficult questions. Pray often about your fiancée and
the Lord will help you. Enjoy your wedding and continue moving forward.
